From The Stress Management Handbook by Leden-Rubenstein:
Stress is killing us. Consider that between 80-90% of all illnesses are stress-related and over 100 million Americans suffer from stress-related illnesses. More importantly, stress is linked to the six leading causes of death: heart disease, cancer, lung disease, accidents, cirrhosis of liver, and suicide.
Yoga reduces stress, increases confidence and self esteem while building stronger, more flexible bodies. And therefore, yoga may help increase workplace productivity.
You can bring yoga to your workplace. Yoga is a great benefit for employees at very little cost to employers. Providing a yoga class at your office has the added value of convenience for your employees.
The program may be arranged through your company’s human resources department. If you have a room with enough floor space, we can hold a class. Students should bring their own mats.

From Stress In The Workplace: A Costly Epidemic
“Workplace stress costs U.S. employers an estimated $200 billion per year in absen teeism, lower productivity, staff turnover, workers’ compensation, medical insur ance and other stress-related expenses. Considering this, stress management may be business’s most important challenge of the 21st century.”
And from the American Psychological Association:
“Along with its emotional toll, prolonged job-related stress can drastically affect your physical health. Constant preoccupation with job responsibilities often leads to erratic eating habits and not enough exercise, resulting in weight problems, high blood pressure and elevated cholesterol levels.” Yoga addresses these issues directly.
