Yoga and Nature Renewal at Green Farmacy Garden
Saturday, Sept 16, 8am-12pm
with Kelly Fisher and Linda Stevens
$80, all proceeds support the Retreat Center of Maryland
Listen to the birds and bullfrogs, inhale the fragrance of a multitude of herbs and salute the early morning sun on this half day retreat in the very healing and spiritual garden of Jim and Peggy Duke.
The Green Farmacy Garden is a sanctuary located in Fulton, Maryland of approximately 300 native and nonnative species of plants that have been used traditionally and/or researched for medicinal purposes. Retired USDA botanist, James A. Duke, PhD, and his wife, Peggy, have been collecting medicinal plants for over sixty years, and in 1997, they transformed part of their pasture land into a teaching garden highlighting the plants that are featured in Jim’s book, The Green Pharmacy. Please visit their website for additional information about Jim and Peggy Duke’s incredible garden and life story.
The retreat will include asana practice, meditation, chanting, as well as fresh herbal tea and cookies and a tour of this incredible garden. Treat your spirit and your senses.
This is an outdoor event, our mats will be directly on the grass of Mother Earth. In the event of inclement weather, we will have to cancel and you will receive a refund. All proceeds benefit The Retreat Center of Maryland. An e-mail detailing this event and location will be sent upon receipt of your registration.
