In the lovely, amazing, fabulous Costa Rica, there are not enough superlatives to describe this country and our experience. We arrived on Saturday and it was a holiday weekend. What holiday you ask? The annual one celebrating the dissolution of the Costa Rican army. It happened just after WWII, and yes, they no longer have an army. They say that teachers are their army now. How progressive is that?
For a week, we practiced yoga twice a day, we held meditation in the morning, Yoga Nidra in the evening, and in the middle of the day we got to explore the surrounding countryside, not to mention have some delicious and healthful meals prepared from local foods at Pura Vida’s open air dining hall. And, did I mention the spa? The body workers offered a large variety of modalities including hot stone massage, acupuncture, myofascial release, water therapy, sound healing, and more.
Here are some photos from our trip.
Join us next time, will you?
