2023 Grow Your Practice Yoga Immersion

This seven weekend program will provide participants an array of knowledge and tools to help facilitate a journey of personal practice, self-inquiry, and reflection. Each weekend will include a comprehensive asana, pranayama, and meditation practice anchored around a chakra. Increase your understanding of basic physical anatomy of the body and breath along with subtle body energetics. Discuss and contemplate key concepts from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita as well as other philosophy topics including a history of Yoga, Ayurveda, Gods and Goddesses, Tantra, mantra, and chanting.

2023 Yoga Teacher Training

Fulfill your dreams of becoming a trained yoga teacher, or simply immerse yourself in your practice! The Yoga Center of Columbia RYT200 Teacher Training Program is a comprehensive 11 month program conveniently scheduled one weekend per month, January through November. Upon satisfactory completion, you will be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance at the 200-hour level (RYT200). You will enrich your practice and your life – even if you have no intention to teach.

The program focuses on the fundamentals of yoga and teaching shared by all yoga traditions. We align with root aspects of yoga, breath, meditation, intention, and service which give rise to the various schools and styles of yoga. Students will learn the history and philosophy of yoga, asanas, pranayama, meditation, anatomy, physiology, therapeutics, and adjustments. Creativity and personal exploration will be encouraged as you deepen your practice and develop your voice and teaching skills.

2024 Science of Life: An Ayurveda Immersion

Returning in 2024!

This program will immerse you in yoga’s sister science, Ayurveda. Learn about herbs, food, daily habits and rhythms, nature’s rhythms, and integrate what you learn by creating a prescription for your own practice. Yoga students and teachers alike will benefit from the in-depth study of the dosas, Prakrit, vikriti, chats, the six tastes, daily habits, and more. Upon completion, you will have the knowledge and skill to create a specific dosha balancing yoga practice, use food and herbs with awareness, and create a basic lifestyle plan for yourself and for your family based upon their needs and goals. Align your habits with dharma, living well or in harmony with nature.
